Halitosis?

halitosis
(*Bossy*) asked:

I dated this guy about a year ago. I liked him until he opened his mouth..the odor wasnt foul, but it wasnt pleasant either… I have been with him after he brushed his teeth and the smell was still there, just a little masked.. I am assuming he had halitosis.. what can be done about that if brushing wont work? And how is it caused? Can it be spread?

I want to know this answer to this question too. I’m English and this is a common occurance among us. Too much sugar in the tea.

He may have rotten teeth and it’s not haitosis at all? My cousin has this problem, but hers is a lack of personal care. I don’t mean brushing, I mean that she has not been to the dentist in awhile. Sometimes, tooth decay can smell.

  3. Johnny O Says:

Bacteria between the teeth and gums. Need to do a very thorough job of brushing, flossing, mouthwash. Also could be from what he ate or digestive issues. Oral health issues can be the indicator of many other health issues including cardiovascular disease.

  4. Shanener Says:

Bacteria and plague causes this…your friend should try this..guaranteed to work.

He probably could have an abcess as in a tooth probably molar that is in desperate need of a root canal or needs to be pulled out. Does he always brush his teeth or only when you are around? maybe he has something that is not in his teeth but his throat or stomach? maybe he should gargle with mouthwash.

  7. Amanda W Says:

Is his diet heavy with garlic or some other pungent spice or herb? Does he brush his tounge? He should probably have a cleaning and exam to also rule out gum disease ( gingivitis).
