What’s the best breath mint for someone w/ severe Halitosis?
yourstruly asked:
I know someone w/ extremely bad breath, and I would like to carry a pack of a great-instantly-working breathmint to offer them when I’m dealing with them.

Listerine breath strips.

Orbit, or other really strong gums like that are a Temp fix, but if it’s THAT bad their might be some kind of dietary or hygiene problem at the root of it.

Try Listerine PockeMist or Strips or Tic Tacs. Probably Altoids. Also, menthol coughdrops from Ricola are strong.

It really doesn’t work…at best, the strong odor of the mint is suppose to over-power the bad breath. They just need to keep hearing from a number of people “a variety of comments” (well intended…that indicates they have a severe breath problem).
“…are you feeling OK? …your breath as an odor that you might have a severe stomach upset?”
“…what did you eat last? …your breath has an unsual strong odor…I can’t identify it! (that might open a discussion to educate/teach what is necessary to resolve it).
If you can find a really “hot looking” person (that they will never see again)…tooooo really make a direct sincere point about it! It might drive the point home.
If it is due to poor dental hygiene/periodontal disease and/or rotten/stale cigarrette breath…they probably won’t do what needs to be done… to address the etiology of the whole thing. You will just have to keep your distance.
I have run across a few people over the years that are pretty pathetic “breath-wise”. I understand your pain!
